Plan your transport
Give the permitted temperature range from the manufacturer or your specialist department and, if specified, the permitted relative humidity. Handover moments are often critical: how long may a package stand in outdoor conditions? Is there a risk of condensation when cold goods enter a warm room? Must the packaging acclimatise at destination before opening? Mention existing protection such as desiccant or sealed film. If you want to send your own data loggers, please agree this in advance.
Condensation: the underestimated risk
If cold goods are taken straight into a warm room in winter and unpacked at once, moisture can form on surfaces and electronics. Leaving the closed packaging in the destination room for a few hours often helps. How long should be decided by your specialists or the manufacturer; we take it into account in the handover plan.
Considering season and route
In summer, time in a parked vehicle can be critical; in winter, long waits at an open loading dock. A direct run without transhipment can reduce additional handling and waiting phases. Give us the limits and we will plan collection time, route and handover so that the goods are unprotected for as short a time as possible.
What matters
- State temperature and humidity ranges with their source
- Clarify the maximum exposure time outdoors
- Plan acclimatisation against condensation at destination
