Plan your transport
The scale says nothing about the space required. Measure length, width and height of the transport unit including baseboard, cover and transport frame, and state the weight. Photograph fine features, trees, figures or cantilevered elements without moving the model unnecessarily. State whether the cover stays on during the journey. Large baseboards often do not fit through standard doors or into lifts – check the route from the studio to the street and at destination to the exhibition room.
Submission deadlines for competitions
In architecture competitions, submission is usually fixed to a time window at a specific location, sometimes anonymised. Give us the submission address, time window and the labelling rules of the brief. We plan arrival with a buffer and make sure labelling and handover comply with the requirements.
Multi-part models and inserts
Larger models often consist of several boards or removable inserts. Number the parts and include a plan of how they fit together. This lets the model be reassembled at destination without guesswork.
What matters
- Include baseboard, cover and frame in external dimensions
- Make fine features visible in photos
- Check door widths and lift sizes at both locations
