Plan your transport
Describe the route from the stopping point to the final position, with floor, doors, lift and obstacles. State whether the goods should be unpacked at destination, placed in a specific spot or simply brought into the room. Installation, connection or alignment are not transport services as such and should be requested separately or assigned internally. What happens to empty packaging also belongs in the agreement: does it stay on site, go with us or get collected later?
Three handover points compared
Kerbside: handover at the vehicle, you handle the route into the building – quick, but your own staff are needed. Goods-in: handover at the dock or receiving area, the recipient handles internal routes. Final position: delivery into the target room, with extra staff or equipment depending on access and weight. Which option fits depends on goods, building and your team.
Positioning without installation
Often it is enough for the item to be set down in its intended place and the packaging removed. Mark the spot beforehand, for example with tape, and state the orientation. Your team can then start connecting or setting up straight away.
What matters
- Name the required handover point exactly
- Describe the route from stopping point to final position
- Agree unpacking and what happens to empty packaging
