Plan your transport
Photograph each package from several sides before collection, with the number and date visible. Note any existing marks on the packaging or goods, such as dents or repaired corners. At destination, the recipient checks the same views before signing for acceptance. Decide in advance whether only the outside of the packaging or also the unpacked goods will be checked in the driver’s presence – this affects the time required and should be reflected in the time window.
Photo record at handover
A proven pattern: front view with number, both sides, top and, where possible, a close-up of each existing mark. For unpacked goods, add an overall view and close-ups of delicate areas. Save the images with date and package number so that they can be clearly assigned later.
What to do if something looks wrong
If the recipient notices damage or a discrepancy on acceptance, it is noted on the delivery note immediately and photographed before the goods are moved further. How to proceed factually is described in our guide on irregularities at acceptance.
