Plan your transport

Focus on the essentials: what are the goods, how large and heavy are they, are they already packed, where are they, where should they go and by when at the latest? Name a person who can be reached immediately and answer questions. Say which compromises would be acceptable, such as a later time window or handover at goods-in instead of the room. Whether a short-notice transport is feasible depends on route, goods and availability – we will tell you honestly and quickly.

The seven key details for urgent requests

1. The goods in one sentence. 2. Number, dimensions and weight of packages. 3. Packed or not. 4. Collection address and earliest collection time. 5. Delivery address and latest delivery time. 6. Contact with mobile number at both locations. 7. Acceptable alternatives. Nothing more is needed for a first quick assessment.

What slows an urgent request down

Missing dimensions, a contact stuck in a meeting, a shipment not yet packed or an unclear handover point can delay urgent jobs. If the goods still need packing, tell us when they will be ready. We then plan collection for the realistic time rather than an estimate.

What matters

  • State goods, dimensions, packaging and addresses briefly
  • Give the latest acceptable delivery time
  • Name a contact who can be reached immediately
